Frequently Asked Questions

Call (603) 715-2559 for additional help.

1.

Do you provide Financial Aid?

We direct potential students to banks and credit unions that finance our students.

2.

How long is the course (duration of time)?

CDL-A  is  160 hours.  Weekdays 8:00am to 5:30pm. Course runs 6.4 weeks.(32 weekdays)

CDL-B  is    96 hours.  Weekdays 8:00am to 5:30pm. Course runs 4 weeks.

Upgrade is 64.5 hours. Weekdays 8:00am to 5:30pm. Course runs 2 weeks.

3.

What is the cost of the course(s)?

CDL-A:  $5,995.00       CDL-B:  $4000.00      Upgrade:  $2,900.00

4.

Do you have job placement after course is complete?

We provide quality job leads as they become available to us from many vendors.  The student is responsible for their future employment.  Job leads are only provided to graduates.  Guest Speakers from Local and Over the Road companies come to visit classes to recruit drivers.  It would be irresponsible for us to guarantee employment as to not every student may be a good match for the job and requirements.

5.

Everyone I talk to says you'll have to drive over the road when I get my CDL.  Is this true?

90% of our students go on to local work within weeks of graduation.  The only time students go over the road is if they wish to do so.  You should network for job leads before, during and after the course.

6.

What is the pass rate?

Most classes pass 100%.  We don't really consider this a school pass rate - We consider this the student's display of retention and skills they've learned throughout the entire course.

7.

Are the instructors certified?

Yes. All driver education instructors in NH must be certified to teach.

8.

Do I use the school's truck for testing?

Yes. One time, if graduating the course.  If the student needs to retest for any reason - there is a fee.

9.

Are there additional cost(s) not covered in the tuition?

CDL-A, CDL-B and Upgrade students pay for their written tests at the DMV to obtain their CDL permit before enrolling.   Upgrade students who need a new D.O.T. Medical Certificate will be charged an additional $150.00 along with tuition.

10.

Does CDS rent trucks for testing?

NO.  Only students enrolled in one of our CDL courses can use the truck(s).  We want our truck back in one piece and cannot risk someone damaging the truck body, engine, transmission or clutch. Don't go about this cheaply - GO TO SCHOOL and do it right.  Learning from a friend? Old Timer?  You'll inherit their bad habits.
